The Course

This year I really realized that I hit a wall. I was unmotivated, I was disorganized, not to mention, overwhelmed and as a result pretty ineffective in my classes. I have alway loved teaching, but due to the obvious situation with COVID, and some personal setbacks, I was at a real low in my teaching. I saw Claudia during a workshop and knew she could help me. Claudia's sessions and materials through the Academy were/are so accessible, thorough and efficient. Teaching several levels that have a wide range can be very challenging and Claudia has managed to simplify, yet provide so much useful and valuable advice and resources. Claudia and her Academy have re-energized me and are providing the support and resources that are making me a better teacher and human in the classroom!

Ser parte de la academia ha sido muy gratificate. Me encanta porque hemos revisado aspectos de la adquisición de lenguaje y también de pedagogía. Los recursos "ready to use" que Claudia comparte están muy bien elaborados y en nuestras "coaching calls" podemos hablar de como usamos los recursos con nuestros estudiantes. He incorporado en mi enseñanza el "calendar talk" y tambien los "checks in" de SEL (social emotional learning). Tener a la mano los videos de todas las estrategias de CI me ha ayudado muchísimo y me encanta que los puedo ver en mi propio tiempo, tomar notas y volver a mirarlos porque es ver a Claudia en acción poniendo en práctica las estrategias. I’ve been teaching for fifteen years and was finally ready to dive in with CI. I just didn’t know where to start. When you’ve been stuck in the traditional method of teaching it’s hard to know better. I’ve taught the lower levels on and off through my career and to be frank I used to dread them. It was hard to keep students interested, engaged, and classroom management was draining my desire and energy to continue teaching on this path. Although this transition is still a work in progress it’s taught me an entire different perspective about language acquisition I never understood before. Thanks to Claudia and this amazing Academy I now have the tools and resources to do things so much effectively. I now enjoy teaching my lower levels again and I will be forever grateful to Claudia for her invaluable guidance and support.
