Let me take you back to 2004

 

I started teaching in October of 2004.  Very  quickly I discovered that there was more to language teaching than what the textbooks offered.

After a few years of frustration, it was obvious that the problem was not that my students didn't study enough or didn't pay attention to my explanations about ser or estar. 

This realization sparked an obsession with second language acquisition, supporting students on their proficiency journey, and fostering cultural competence.

Over the years, I've shared my knowledge, coached language educators, created my own curriculum, and ventured into podcasting. Yet, I always longed for a community beyond single sessions or conferences.

In 2021, I took a leap of faith and founded Growing With Proficiency - The Spanish Teacher Academy.

Our vibrant family of educators has grown, impacting hundreds of Spanish teachers worldwide.

This year marks the third anniversary of Growing With Proficiency, and I'm thrilled to introduce the most requested element to our community - my curriculum: the Creciendo curriculum. It's not "perfect," but after hearing so many success stories from teachers, I've decided to share it with you as a beta edition.
