Let me take you back to 2004

That’s when I started teaching Spanish — and quickly realized that textbooks alone weren’t enough.

After years of frustration, I discovered it wasn’t my students’ fault… the problem was how we were approaching language learning.

That moment sparked my obsession with second language acquisition, proficiency-based instruction, and building cultural competence.

Since then, I’ve coached teachers, created my own curriculum, and started a podcast — and in 2021, I founded Growing With Proficiency: The Spanish Teacher Academy.

In 2021 and 2022, I was honored as Teacher of the Year by FFLA and SCOLT — but my greatest joy has been seeing this community grow and transform classrooms across the world.

Now, four years in, the Creciendo Curriculum is complete and is part of the Academy — and we’re continuing to improve it with videos, audio, detailed plans, and your feedback.
